Sharing the Power of Sports

Athletics can do more than just help with the easily identifiable traits like concentration and socialization. Sport also has a healing power — one that begins individually and can extend and transcend groups of people.

It’s something so potentially powerful that at times we try to hold on to it too closely. But once we share it, we notice that we haven’t diminished anything — only increased our own joy and power at the same time.

WASHINGTON—The push for antipiracy legislation brought lawmakers together for much of the past year, but in the Senate at least, the support that remains after nationwide protests appears to be mostly from Democrats.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada is moving ahead with plans for a test vote on the legislation Tuesday, but the Senate’s top Republican, Mitch McConnell, on Thursday called for a postponement, citing “serious issues with this legislation.”

Unveil a path to my son….

He is my heart….my son. He is a mystery and a gift. My challenge and my inspiration….I will never give up on him, no matter the battles we face, the doubts we crush, nor the obstacles we will overcome.
